Buy the MADE-line Shorts sewing pattern from Madswick. The perfect boxer shorts that really aren’t too short. These simple shorts have generous ease, wide legs, a grown-on elastic waistband, and practical in-seam pockets. They're great for beginners as well as more experienced sewists looking for a quick and easy summer sew.

Suggested fabrics: Light to mid weight wovens are recommended for this pattern, but a heavy denim would also work nicely. Possible wovens include linen, viscose, tencel, denim, cotton lawn, cotton poplin, quilting cotton, cotton twill, etc. The pockets must be made from a light weight woven such as cotton lawn or voile. 

Although this pattern was designed for woven fabrics, it could easily be adapted for use with knit fabrics too.

Fabric requirements: You may need more fabric if you choose to use a directional print.

44"" (112 cm) wide fabric: 1.5 - 2.5 yd (1.4 - 2.3 m).

56"" (142 cm) wide fabric: 1.25 - 1.5 yd (1.2 - 1.4 m).

Sizing: 1  15 (approx. UK 6/8  34, based on our ). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is drafted for a 5'6"" (1.68 m) height.

Notions: 1.5"" (4 cm) wide elastic (see chart).
